Emmanuel Ahimana is a 24-year-old professional dancer from Kigali, Rwanda. The love and gift to dance came to him like a birthright during his childhood.
He started dancing spontaneously and experienced how creativity occurs in the moment, timelessly and freely by imitating his siblings while dancing traditional dances at home.
Emmanuel believes that dancing makes him whole.

He first joined MindLeaps Rwanda and continued to participate in different festivals and competitions. He worked with some of the best teachers and choreographers such as Misty Copeland from ABT Studio Company and Kirven James Boyd from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater who inspired his career.
He performed at the Ubumuntu festival (2011, 2016) and choreographed the play “Illustrated the power of unity” in 2019. Emmanuel was chosen as the 8 final dancers for the Mashirika project where he performed in ‘Dance my story’.
Emmanuel is a dedicated and professional dancer who is ready to learn and push his career to the international level. Trained in a variety of dance forms: modern, ballet, contemporary and Afro African, Emmanuel is currently an assistant dance teacher at MindLeaps and a choreographer.
