Adelard Mugabe

Adelard Mugabe is a dancer, instructor, and performer who started dancing in Gisenyi, Rwanda at the age of 11. Adelard joined a group of friends with a vision of developing a new dance scene in Rwanda.
Adelard's dance style combined different techniques like hip-hop, contemporary dance, storytelling and popping to create his own proper style he named ‘animation’.

He won the best dancer award in 2018 at the Artrwanda Ubuhanzi dance competition that took place in the whole country. He then moved to Kigali and started performing in different events including the IWACU Muzika Festival and he started giving classes to people that were interested in his style.
In 2020 his dance creation work was selected for BAHO NEZA program by the IMBUTO FOUNDATION which is powered by the first lady of Rwanda and aims to raise awareness on the matter of teenage pregnancy.
He continues working with the IMBUTO FOUNDATION where he has been provided with a space to work and create freely. In 20202 he performed in one of the biggest youth events called “Youth connect”.
Adelard continues to promote his dance style through teaching and performing inside and outside his country.
